Team roles and responsibilities

Finchley Victoria Bowling and Croquet Club is run by a team of enthusiastic volunteers who love the club, enjoy the sports and activities we offer, and value the friendship and the fun we have together

We aim to be inclusive and listen to our members

Clubhouse/indoor lead and co-ordinators – Val Sajvani and Raksha Bhalsod

Val and Raksha oversee the lettings, talks and social event series for members, including Winter Warmers, table tennis, The Youth Club for the Young at Heart, clubhouse maintenance, first aid and catering needs

Val

In the summer, Val will be found on the bowling green, and in the winter playing table tennis and rummikub

 

Raksha

In the summer, Raksha will be found on the croquet lawn, and like Val, in the winter, she’ll be found playing table tennis and rummikub

Club secretary – Michael Dawson

Michael ensures we are legally compliant and keeps the minutes of our team meetings and our AGMs. In the summer, Michael will be found on the bowling green, and is a keen cyclist who rides throughout the year.

Communications lead – Nick Williams

  Nick oversees internal communications with members, our website, the newsletter, sponsorship, media liaison and collaborations. In the summer, Nick will be found on the bowling green, and the croquet lawn, and in the winter, Nick will be found on the pétanque court, playing table tennis, playing rummikub and doing jigsaws.

 Treasurer – Paul Lakra

Paul oversees our finances, budgeting, collecting membership fees and membership records. In the summer, Paul will be found on the croquet lawn, both here, and in Watford, and occasionally on the bowling green. In the winter, Paul can be found playing table tennis and rummikub

Outdoor lead – this role is currently vacant

Overseeing the club’s outdoor activities, including bowling, croquet, pétanque and overseeing the maintenance of the greens and the grounds

Honorary President – Mahendra Sajvani

Mahendra represents the club in the wider world but holds no responsibility within the club, although he is good at giving out trophies! In the summer, Mahendra will be found on the bowling green, and in the winter, he is to be found playing table tennis
