This year, 2025, sees 100 years of playing bowls at Finchley Victoria. There used to be two clubhouses, one for ladies and one for gents, and they played on separate
greens. A lot has changed. Both clubhouses were burned down through arson in 2005, so we had a new clubhouse in 2007, and now the second lawn is now given over to croquet.

Scheduled play during the summer is currently:
Wednesdays between 2 and 4
Saturdays between 2 and 4
Occasionally Sundays between 2 and 4 too
We call these roll ups – simply the opportunity to play against each other.

Once you are a member, there is also play at other times when members want to play. As a member, you’ll be on the Bowls WhatsApp group and will receive messages about other opportunities to play, and you’ll be able to suggest extra play too.

Once you are a full member, all play is free, and the club provides equipment, and you are also welcome to buy your own bowls. Flat shoes are required.
We have started to invite an external coach to come and coach us a couple of times a year. We pay him £5 or £10 each for a couple of hours of coaching and its been
invaluable to help us build fundamental skills.

We do play against other clubs, and have around 20 fixtures, home and away, in 2025, all with clubs no more than a couple of miles away from us. You are welcome
to represent the club when you are ready, and are under no pressure to do so.

We are very relaxed club, with no dress code, other than flat shoes, for roll ups. We have club shirts and a dress code for matches against other clubs.
